Środa z Gościnnym Projektantem - jak ozdabiac wycinanki - propozycja Riikki Kovasin.

Hi there! This time I wanted to share with you a little tutorial about how I treated my gear chipboards

First I colored the pieces roughly with a Distress Stain, color Spiced Marmelade. I know, orange it's not the first color you think, when you think about metal gears, but I thought it would make a great, rusty base for the other layers of color.

Then I added a brown shade across the whole surface using Distress Ink, color Tea Dye.

More layers of color! To get more depth to the gears I added darker brown (Walnut Stain) and black (Balck Soot) here and there. The point is not to cover the whole surface, but add a touch of it here and there.

Then I embossed the gears. I used three different embossing powders - copper (Wow - ultra high copper), rust (Ranger - Antiquities Rust) and clear (Wow - Semidull). I wanted to add a touch of metallics to the gears, but not too much, because I've just created great color layers with the inks. I used embossing ink to the whole surface and then sprinkled a littel embossing powder to the gear, like a pinch of salt. after adding the two coloured powders, I covered the whole shape with clear powder and then embossed it. Thus the different powders melt together nicely.

Lastly I added some black ink directly from the ink pad to make the rusty parts really stand out."

  3. Bardzo fajny sposób ozdabiania wycinanek. Wyglądają, tak jak Jadwiga wcześniej napisała na zdrewniałe. :)
